POWER TOOL 01 – Compression Calculator
Power Tool 01 is built to quickly calculate your engine’s compression ratio from your own measurements.
Bore, stroke, combustion chamber volume, head gasket and the other values are entered directly into the tool. Change one parameter and you immediately see how it affects the result.
Perfect when you’re building an engine: simply measure the combustion chamber volume in cc, enter the values, compare different head gaskets and see exactly what compression ratio you will end up with before the engine is assembled.
POWER TOOL 02 – Engine Displacement
Cylinder bore, stroke and number of cylinders – then you can see that an engine many people call a 2.5 litre with an 85 mm crank stroke is actually 2461 cc, while Volvo’s own marine crankshaft with an 86 mm stroke gives 2489 cc, which is certainly closer to 2500 cc.
A 92.5 mm bore with an 80 mm stroke gives 2150 cc – but is that really the bore you want, for example?
